12-Year-Old Mentally Challenged Girl from Vadodara Makes Gujarat Proud Nationwide

Hetvi Khimsuriya, an eighth-grade student at a school run by the Municipal Primary Education Committee in Vadodara, has achieved a remarkable feat by securing a place in the India Book of Records for her exceptional freehand painting skills. This mentally challenged girl has brought immense pride to Vadodara and Gujarat as a whole, and her talent was acknowledged and honoured by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, who presented her with a certificate and medal.

Despite being born with incurable conditions such as 75% cerebral palsy and mental retardation, 12-year-old Hetvi has defied her own limitations to accomplish this remarkable milestone. Her dedicated parents took great care of her and meticulously taught her the basics. Starting with educational puzzles, they gradually introduced her to colours, and she honed her skills by practicing colouring within the lines. Hetvi even started her own YouTube channel, showcasing her freehand paintings and inspiring other mentally challenged children while igniting their enthusiasm.

Astoundingly, Hetvi has already created 250 freehand paintings and crafts, solved 50 educational puzzles, and can display and recite numbers from 1 to 100 in English and the Gujarati vowel-consonant dialect. Just a month ago, she became the first disabled girl from Gujarat to secure a place in the Gujarat Book of Records. Now, she has achieved another significant milestone by becoming the mentally challenged child with the most certificates in the India Book of Records.

To commemorate her achievement, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel presented Hetvi with a certificate, gold medal, pen, record book, record car sticker, and other mementos as part of the India Book of Records kit. Gujarat Health Minister Rishikesh Patel also extended his congratulations and best wishes to Hetvi, while Minister of Women and Child Welfare and Social Justice and Empowerment Bhanu Babaria honoured her with an India Book of Records kit.

Hetvi draws inspiration from her father, who serves as her mentor and teacher, and she aspires to bring global recognition to the country by setting a world record herself. With her unwavering determination and remarkable artistic abilities, she continues to shine a light on the potential and achievements of mentally challenged individuals, spreading hope and encouragement to others facing similar challenges.
