Muzammil Pathan, a 13-year-old teenager was only returning from a regular Wednesday at school on his bicycle, when a speeding garbage truck knocked him over.
The teen studied in MES High School in Nagarwada, and resided in Hathikhana. Around 12.30 pm, he was cycling home from Salatwada where the accident occurred. Onlookers said that Pathan was riding his cycle on the roadside, however the driver of the garbage collection truck could not evaluate properly and hit the kid on a high speed.
The number of the truck was noticed by an eye-witness who later reported this to the Police as the driver of the truck fled from the spot. Pathan yielded to his injuries on the spot, however he was taken to the hospital to confirm his death.
The Cops arrested the driver early morning on Thursday. Actions against the driver will be taken as per the statements given by the eye-witnesses. Pathan’s parents’ statements are likely to be taken on Thursday.
