Around 150 e-bikes gutted in fire after a huge fire broke out inside the godown of an electronic bike manufacturing company located at Shed No. 910 in Makarpura GIDC of Vadodara city. The fire brigade immediately rushed to the spot and controlled the fire by a continuous flow of water.
Nikunj Azad, a sub-fire officer of the Makarpura GIDC fire station, said, that the fire broke out in the godown of a company that manufactures electronics bikes. The company and godown are located at Shed No. 910 in Makarpura GIDC.
The matter was immediately reported to the fire brigade and the team rushed to the spot. The godown was cordoned off in a planned manner and with a continuous flow of water, the fire brigade team managed to douse the fire. However, the e-bikes at the godown were burnt before the fire was brought under control. The exact cause of the fire is not known, however, it is believed to have started due to a short circuit in the godown.
At around 11-30 in the morning, the fire broke out in the godown of the e-bikes and the employees of big and small companies in the vicinity stopped their work and rushed out. Due to e-bikes in the godown, the fire spread quickly and thick smoke and flames were seen from a distance. People gathered at the spot and a police team also reached there to control the crowd. The GEB team also reached there and cut off the power supply in the area as part of security.
The sales of e-bikes declined due to the Corona Pandemic and a large stock of e-bikes manufactured by a company was in the godown. As the fire broke out in the godown all the electronics bikes located in the godown were burnt to ashes.
