Following the success of the last three years under the Sujalam Sufalam Jal Abhiyan, the campaign was conducted across the state this year too, and has yielded positive results. In the Vadodara district, about 220 works of water storage were carried out under this campaign.
Under this campaign, a total of 220 works including 133 works under MGNREGA have been completed by Water Resources Department, Municipalities, Forest and Environment Department, and District Rural Development Agency in the Vadodara district. During this campaign cleaning, deepening of the lake, leveling of the land, farm pond, check dam, canal desilting works were undertaken. As a result, 20,218 days of employment were created. Apart from that, in the midst of the Corona epidemic, laborers in the villages also found employment near their homes.
The works carried out in the Vadodara district provided 1,33,983 cubic meters of soil excavation and 20,218 days of employment. Laborers were paid a salary of Rs 14.85 lakh. 14,835 cubic meters of soil were excavated through the works carried out by the District Rural Development Agency.
Groundwater will be higher due to the water storage works in the district.
