CATC 1 has been organized by 3 Gujarat Battalion Vadodara from February 15 to February 19 for the C certificate cadets. Total 296 cadets from different areas attended the camp and learned the basic skills which will help them in their careers.
At the beginning of this camp, all the cadets went through a thermal test, rapid corona test, used hand sanitizer, wore masks, and maintained social distancing.
In the five-day camp, the cadets learned the art of drill, map reading, weapon training, disaster management, communication during the war and social activity, disaster management, hygiene and sanitization, and civil authority responsibility of NCC cadets. The last day quiz test was also held to know what they learned during the camp.
A total of 296 cadets took part in the camp coming from areas like Surat, Baroda, Padra, Karjan, Bodeli, Chhota Udepur, Savli, and Dabhoi. Drishti Patil from the 6 Battalion will receive the DG medal and Jay Bhanushali will get the governor award.
“The camp is very important for the cadets as they learn military and non-military training which helps them in their careers. The cadets’ participation was encouraging especially for the girls and now it’s up to them to implement in better ways, “said S. Pawan Kumar CO 3 Battalion Gujarat.
On participation from Gujarat in defense and other fields, he said that the situation improves in recent years as the parents are not in favor. That is because of the business-minded people in Gujarat. However, he hopes the situation will improve.
