On Tuesday, the Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) arrested 3 people for selling “Not For Sale” Remdesivir. Of the three arrested, two work in the Gotri GMERS Medical College, while the third one, a woman works on contract in Gotri GMERS Hospital
After the police received a piece of information about a man selling Remdesivir, a trap was set and a decoy customer was sent. One of the accused, identified as Sohail Darbar arrived with the injection and the cops nabbed him. As per information, Varsha Damor, a servant at Gotri GMERS Hospital had one injection with her over the last 25 days. She was given two injections for a patient, but he died after one was administered. She then decided to sell the remaining one.
Shailesh Prajapati, a servant at Gotri Medical College sold the injection for Rs. 14,000, and Sohail Darbar, who worked as a plant operator in the oxygen plant of Gotri Medical College, sold it for Rs. 15,000.
The cops are also questioning the accused to find out if any other persons are involved in the crime.
