4% improvement in gender ratio: 70,967 new voters have been added to the voter list of Vadodara City District

The District Electoral Officer applauded the activists associated with the electoral system wherein, a total of 33,934 male and 37,033 female voters have been registered in Vadodara city and district voters’ list.

The voters’ list of Vadodara City and District has been released today after a month-long special brief revision process that has registered 70,967 new voters. An intensive campaign of registration of young voters, who are going to get the right to vote for the first time, was carried out by Tantra through educational institutions have received good responses. District Collector and Election Officer R.B. Barde commended all those who contributed to the creation of the inclusive voter list and all the youth who showed enthusiasm for enrolling in the voter list as a precondition for joining the democratic process for their awareness.

A special brief correction program of the electoral roll with photographs was announced with reference to the eligibility date of 1st January 2022 mentioned by R.P. Joshi, Deputy District Election Officer. In addition to regular registration, special registration campaigns were organized on three Sundays and one Saturday at polling stations for a period of one month, allowing voters to register near their homes.

Efforts have been made to ensure maximum enrollment of young voters by appointing student envoys in schools and colleges and facilitating enrollment on campus which has yielded positive results. All these processes have been carried out in accordance with the rules and provisions of the Election Commission.

In 2022, the gender ratio has increased by 4% to 951 as compared to the year 2021 and the EP Ratio has also increased by 0.47 as compared to last year to 69.05 in Vadodara City and District.

He said that this campaign was carried out under the guidance of the District Election Officer, the Deputy District Election Officer, the staff of the Election Branch, and the staff. The authorities have appreciated all these collaborations.
