A five and half foot crocodile was trapped inside the cage.
Wildlife Rescue Trust President, Arvind Pawar received a call from the Sarpanch of Kumetha Village in Waghodia taluka that two or three crocodiles present inside the village lake attacks goats, dogs, calves. The villagers also fear going to the lake to fetch water or to wash clothes.
A cage was set up on the shore of the lake by the Wildlife Rescue Trust and a team from the Waghodia Forest Department to catch the crocodile. On Thursday a five-and-a-half-foot crocodile was trapped in the morning.
Yuvraj Singh Rajput, Vishal Rathore and Waghodia Forest Department official J. P. Makwana reached and safely removed the crocodile from the cage and handed it over to the Waghodia Forest Department.
The villagers although relieved are worried about the presence of more crocodiles in the lake and requested the forest department to catch them as soon as possible.
According to Arvind Pawar, there are still two crocodiles in the lake of the village and the cage has been set up to catch them.
