700 PHC employees went on mass casual leave and staged protest

With the arrival of the Corona vaccine in the state, the staff of the Primary Health Center (PHC) called Corona Frontline Warriors went on a one-day mass casual leave. About 700 employees of the Primary Health Center of Vadodara district gathered and handed over the memorandum to the Vadodara District Development Officer (DDO). They mentioned their pending demands and threaten to remain away from the vaccination work if the issues including salary are not resolved immediately. Employees gathered with posters and banners at the District Panchayat Bhavan and raised slogans against the system.

About 700 employees of the PHC in Vadodara district are working under contract but said to have not been paid for the last two months. Other issues, including regular pay, were raised by them several times, but it was not resolved and they went on a mass casual leave.

The employees of the PHC gathered at the District Panchayat and raised slogans demanding the provision of a regular salary, PF, medical facility, clothing, etc. They also gave a memorandum to the District Development Officer on unresolved issues. The application sought payment of salary arrears for the last two months along with the payslip. In addition, they requested to resolve issues including PF, medical facility, and stop recruitment through outsourcing.

They threatened to intensify their agitation if their demands are not resolved at the earliest. The leaders said that the contractor is financially exploiting employees hence they demanded to stop outsourcing. They also threatened to boycott the vaccination drive if their demands are not met.
