Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr. Karanraj Vaghela said that the quantity of foreign liquor as well as beer caught by the Vadodara city police system is periodically destroyed by a court order. 198 cases of prohibition were registered by Panigate Police Station of Vadodara city from 11-1-2018 to 30-11-2020. Total 27,692 bottles of foreign liquor, as well as beer worth Rs 72,33,875, were seized by the team. This quantity was destroyed at the Chikhodara village on Thursday.
Similarly, Wadi police station registered 132 prohibition cases from 3-3-2018 to 31-10-2020 in which 5,224 bottles of foreign liquor and beer worth Rs 15,31,273 were seized by the team. On Thursday the liquor was destroyed at Chikhodara village near Vadodara as per the court order.
He further said that as per the court order and in the presence of Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone-3, Deputy Collector and SDM, Assistant Commissioner of Police E Division as well as Drug Enforcement and Excise Officer, a total of Rs. 87,65,148 was destroyed. Wadi and Panigate police station officials were also present there at the spot.
