The lake of Kandewar village in the Sankheda taluka of Chhotaudepur district burst as water overflowed after water flowed from the canal and entered the field around, which caused extensive damage to the crops and created a flood-like situation in the area.
The water of this lake is used by the villagers as well as the farmers. As the lake emptied, water was being pumped through a canal passing through the lake by the village. As water overflowed from the canal, one side of the lake collapsed and the water from the lake flooded the fields and the village. The roads were also extensively damaged as water entered the village. The farmers are in trouble as the water-damaged their standing crops and they have no option to cover it.
A survey has been conducted by a team headed by Deputy Mamlatdar (Administration) Viju Vasava for the damage caused to farmers due to the bursting of Kandewar village lake. The survey team will prepare a report on the loss to the farmers and will be handed over to the concerned officer. On the other hand, work has also been started to fill the gap in the lake.
