Railway Crime Branch caught one carrying liquor inside Covid 19 special train

Bootleggers have now started using Covid special trains to ferry liquor to their destinations. In one such incident, the Railway Local Crime Branch caught a person with liquor from Ahmedabad Covid-19 A.C. double-decker special train. The accused said to be brought the bottles from Selvas and Mumbai. He was sent for a Covid test at the SSG and further investigation is on in the matter.

As per details, the Railway Crime Branch team was on patrolling and caught the person carrying two schoolbags from Ahmedabad Covid-19 A.C. double-decker special train. During the investigation, the person was found to be carrying liquor bottles inside the bags. The team seized 20 bottles from him worth around 13,000 rupees.

In the police investigation, it was found that the bootlegger used to bring alcohol on the special train and sell it at retail price as there was less checking in the special train.

During police interrogation, the accused identified himself as Hiten Gandhi, a resident of the Kalupur area in ​​Ahmedabad city. He brought the liquor bottles from a bar in Selvas and from a man named Amit from Mumbai and said to be selling from his residence.

The police investigation also revealed that Hiten Gandhi had been peddling alcohol on the train for a long time and continued it since the beginning of the Covid Special Train. He used school bags to mislead the police but finally was caught by the Crime Branch Team.
