Deepak Srivastava’s nomination form cancelled

BJP candidate Ashish Joshi has objected to the nomination form of Deepak Srivastava, son of Waghodia MLA Madhu Srivastava. He demanded that the form of Deepak Srivastava must be canceled on the issue of having 3 children.

After failing to get the ticket from BJP Deepak Srivastav had registered himself as an independent candidate. On the day of scrutiny Ashish Joshi, the BJP candidate from Ward No.15, objected to Deepak Srivastava’s candidature mentioning having two children in the affidavit, but instead, he has three children and demanded to cancel the form. The Returning Officer will now hold a hearing at 2 p.m.

Deepak Srivastav said that he has only two children- a son and a daughter. Madhu Srivastav has challenged everyone to prove that his son has three children.

Supporters of Madhu Srivastava and Deepak Srivastava raised questions to the objection petition. As soon as BJP candidate Ashish Joshi went to the cabin of the Returning Officer, he demanded the expulsion of the Returning Officer and smashed the glass of the Returning Officer.

Following the incident, a police convoy rushed to the office of the Returning Officer and evacuated all the supporters of the candidates.

Ashish Joshi had submitted evidence that independent candidate Dipak Shrivastav has three children and he has concealed the details of his third child in the nomination form. Officials scrutinized the evidence, and a hearing was held.

Dipak, it is learned, claimed his father adopted his third child, a daughter and therefore she was officially no more his own daughter. This argument was rejected by the election officer. The issue of pending/unpaid property tax was also involved. Dipak had allegedly concealed related details in his submission.
