One accused involved in theft on trains, caught

Local Crime Branch Western Railway Vadodara arrested one accused involved in theft inside interstate trains and travels. The accused used to drug passengers and lifted their valuable items. During the investigation, the police solved in total 11 cases after the arrest of the accused from Rajasthan.

An offense was registered on 3rd February 2021 regarding theft after drugging the travelers. Based on that the LCB team in coordination with RPF formed different teams and began an investigation into the matter.

The technical team received information through technical surveillance about the accused present in Pali Rajasthan. The team confirmed it from their informers and arrested the accused from the spot. During the investigation, he revealed his name as Govindram Viramram Servi ( Chaudhary) from village Garniya in Pali, Rajasthan, and has been involved in various crimes committed in various trains and travels.

The accused is involved in thefts onboard various trains like Chennai-Jodhpur express, Yashwantpur-Jodhpur express and Jakhar travels, BR travels buses. The team seized 22 gold items, 10 silver items, mobiles, cash, ten strips of Prozolam 0.5 tablets, six debit cards, cheques, a purse, and different color dresses from his possession worth around 7.30 lakhs.

The accused is also involved in earlier offenses at Pali and Jodhpur areas of Rajasthan. Talking about his modus operandi the accused targetted the long route trains and travels running towards Marwad Rajasthan. After booking tickets in different names, he talked to passengers, earned their trust by saying that a daughter was born in his family. He offered them juice which used to be drugged and fled with the items.
