10 things to do this Holi while staying safe at home

Never in a million years, people would have ever thought of celebrating the auspicious and the most loved festival of India without being able to gather and celebrate the festival of colors, bura na mano corona hai !

This past year has been really dull as we were forced to sit surrounded by the four walls and were expecting to see a pop of color around us but due to rising cases of COVID-19, we cannot gather but that doesn’t stop us to make the most of this festival in the comfort of our own houses.

So here at ten things, you can do to celebrate holi the new normal way:

  1. Bake it on your own:

Instead of buying sweets and bringing home the risk of getting the virus along with it, now is the time when you can make the mouthwatering treats at home and enjoy it. It is also said that cooking is therapeutic so why not give it a try.

  1. Netflix and holi

Spending time with loved ones never goes out of style and what better is to do that while in the comfort of your own house and starting a movie marathon.  All-time favorites like Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, Bareli ki Barfi, Jodha Akbar are a must-watch this holi.

  1. Spread self-love

Holi is a time when our hair and skin suffer the most due to the chemical colors so let’s give a break to it this year and use this time to treat it with the utmost care and love.

  1. Go virtual:

Change is the only constant they say, and in this new normal era going on an online platform and celebrating holi is the way to be. Take up an online dance or Zumba session which will help you get fit the fun way!

  1. From colors to fluid art:

A new trend is sailing through the art market which is known as fluid art which is where explore their artistic side and enjoy it. So this holi instead of throwing colors at each other, one can use colors to be creative.

6. Relive “those days”:

We all are in a pandemic stage where we have no new memories to make and find ourselves pondering over memories from the past years and which leads us to feel nostalgic so let’s take this moment to call up those loved ones and talk our heart out to them.

  1. Add music to the new holi:

we won’t be able to groove to the music and colors with our friends this year but who says that you can’t groove with your family members and those four-legged friends. often, they are ignored during the holi time since the colors aren’t good for them but this holi makes it all about them.

  1. Innovation is the answer:

Why stick to old-style thandais when there is so much more to look up to, is given the opportunity people can really get innovative and come up with some really great ideas, so this holi spice up that regular thandai and turn it into something unique.

9.Go back to the roots:

How many of the people actually know why holi was celebrated? not many! so let’s take a tour down the history and spend time with the elderly members of the house in order to relive why holi was actually celebrated.

This will help bond with the oldies, which we all tend to miss out on in our daily routines.

  1. Buy the day off

With every festival comes loads of discount offers on your favorite sites, so why leave this opportunity hanging? this way you now only shop and fulfill your Wishlist but also help money circulate in the economy again.

We have come through a lot and there is yet a lot to see, but don’t let this pandemic let your holi go in vain.

Happy Holi!
