OSD Vinod Rao reviewed the Covid 19 situation

OSD Dr. Vinod Rao reviewed the situation at SSG Hospital where 503 patients were admitted at present. He said that since the inflow of new patients at OPD is less, after a gap of 46 days, the net total admitted at SSG Hospital might go below 500 today. It had crossed 500 on 3rd April.

They are coordinating with GMSCL to get a timely supply of injections and medicines. However, there is a cause of worry as they have 110 patients admitted in Mucormycosis Ward.

He reviewed the situation at Samras Hospital where 372 patients are admitted. Dr. Rao informed that in the last 30 days about 2,000 patients got admitted to Samras Hospital. Despite an acute shortage of manpower the doctors, nurses, paramedical and support staff did excellent work. VMC helped immensely with Class- 4 manpower for cleaning and other support work. VMC officers also took responsibility as Nodal Officers for crucial tasks.

He further said that a total of 720 Oxygen beds and 280 Non-Oxygen beds at Samras Hospital was made functional with minimum cost SSG Extension Hospital at Samras, along with Gotri Extension Hospital at Atladra and 1,000 Free Beds at Parul, Dhiraj, and Pioneer Hospitals ensured that all patients were given the best possible free treatment, even during the highest peak of the second wave.
