Vaccination for 18-45 years begins in rural areas of Vadodara District

In the rural areas of the Vadodara district, the covid-19 vaccine has started for all persons in the age group of 18 to 44 years. Minister of State for Narmada Development Yogesh Patel inspected the vaccination operation at Waghodia Primary Health Center in the presence of MLA Madhubhai Srivastava.

25 vaccination sites have been set up in the rural areas of the Vadodara district. According to Chief District Health Officer, Dr. Surendra Jain, “200 beneficiaries will be vaccinated at one site”. All beneficiaries will have to book their vaccination slot after registering on the Cowin portal. A special notice is given to all citizens that registration will not be possible on the spot for 18 to 44 years. While vaccination of citizens above 45 years of age will also continue as per routine at 25 centers.

Chief District Health Officer, Dr. Surendra Jain added that there are 7.50 lakh citizens in the age group of 18 to 44 in the Vadodara district. An effective plan has been made to vaccinate 5,000 citizens every day from 200 vaccination centers in the district. Thus, ten thousand people in the district, including those aged 18 to 44 and above, will be vaccinated daily. So far 4.05 lakh people have been vaccinated in the Vadodara district in which there was wide cooperation of the villagers.

He added that the slot will be open every evening at 5 pm for citizens in the age group of 18 to 44, in which online registration has to be done for vaccination. The site will then be allotted and the vaccine will have to be administered from there.

Dr. Jain added that the second dose would be given after 84 days after taking the first dose of Covishield, which protects against corona. However in Covaxin, the second dose should be taken after 28 days. Corona patients can be vaccinated after three months.

District Panchayat President Ashokbhai Patel, Ashwinbhai Patel, Collector Shalini Agarwal, District Development Officer Kiran Zaveri and office bearers were present on this occasion.
