Gotri Hospital give a new life to newborn triplets who brought in a critical condition

The pediatric department of Gotri Hospital gave a new life to triplet newborns and discharged them from the hospital on Friday.

Resident doctor Dr. Mausum Jaiswal said that the triplets ( two brothers and a sister) were born in a private hospital in Chhotaudepur were brought to their department for intensive care on the fourth day of birth in critical condition. These babies were born at 32 weeks, i.e. 8 months prematurely. One of the three weighed 1.300 grams, the other weighed only 900 grams and the third weighed 1.100 grams, which is very low.

The baby weighed 900 grams and was the healthiest despite being the lightest. After three days of oxygen, his condition improved. The condition of the other two was relatively delicate. So they had to be kept under a ventilator for the first 5 days. Problems such as low birth weight, premature birth, and oral bleeding exacerbated their condition. They also had to be protected from infection.

However, under the guidance of Dr. Nimisha Pandya, Head of the Department, the team of Associate Professor Dr. Gautam Shah, Dr. Mausam Jaiswal, and Dr. Shikhardeep Jain took up the challenge of treatment with their knowledge and medical skills and the belief that they could save them. They gave medical treatment that was considered very complex and took all the necessary care to keep these newborns infection-free. Along with that their mother also received the necessary medical care. The nursing and support staff of the department of the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) also took all the necessary care. The condition of the children gradually improved and they gained good weight.

Haji Bhai, the father of the children, thanked the doctors and staff for their noble service and felt grateful to them. The cost of this treatment in a private hospital might be in lakhs. whereas here it was almost for free for the family. The fact that noble treatment is available in government hospitals has been proved once again.
