Vadodara organizes registration of 30,000 unorganized laborers under govt. scheme in 2 months

In the last two months, the Labour Department Office has registered 30,000 unorganized laborers as the Central Government decided to issue e-shram cards to the unorganized workers to assure social security to them so that they can avail advantages of an insurance scheme.

Unorganized workers include domestic workers, self-employed workers, or salaried workers according to section-2 of the Unorganized Labour Social Security Act,2008. Common service center registers the e-labor card. C.M of Gujarat, Mr. Bhupendra Patel has set an aim to provide assistance to the people who are benefiting from this scheme within 100 days. E-labour cards are daily reviewed by district collector Mr. R.D Barad.

Assistant Labour Commissioner Ashish Gandhi quoted, “In the last two months alone, 30,000 workers have been registered by conducting 190 camps”.

To avail this scheme any working person can get the benefit of the card as a self-employed laborer.

  • Construction, Agriculture, MNREGA, Fishing, Asha Workers, Anganwadi, hawkers, Domestic Workers, Rickshaw Drivers, Milk Mandali members can register.
  • Registration can also be done on the website www.eshram.gov.in. The easiest way to register is to go to the Common Service Centre or e-Gram center of the village Gram Panchayat.
  • Applicants should not be paying tax and should not be availing the benefit of Employee State Insurance Scheme or PF and the age should be between 18 to 20 years.
  • Rs 2 lakh and 1 lakh assistance will be given for 1 year in case of accidental or permanent disability and partial disability respectively is given to the beneficiary.

Anyone under this criteria can be easily benefitted from this scheme and based on this it is likely to be associated with another scheme in future.
