Visit to India: United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson visits Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad

The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson visited the world-famous Gandhi Ashram in Ahmedabad. The CM of Gujarat Bhupendra Patel was present at the event. ‘Father of the Nation’ Mahatma Gandhi provided the whole world with an example of how truth and non-violence can change the world said Boris Johnson, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

The staff of Sabarmati Ashram presented two books, ‘Guide to London’ and ‘Autobiography of Mirabel’, to PM Johnson. PM Johnson landed today in India and started his tour from Gujarat. He was impressed by Gandhi’s ideas when he came to Gandhi’s holy land in Hridayakunj. He offered flowers to the statue of Gandhi.

They visited various parts of Hridayakunj, spun on Gandhiji’s favorite charkha, and also visited the Ahmedabad Gallery at Sabarmati Ashram. He also visited the Mira Kutir at the historic Gandhi Ashram which belonged to British Lady Madeleine Slade a British citizen.

Chief Secretary Pankaj Kumar, Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister K Kailasanathan, Ahmedabad District Collector Sandeep Sagle, Trustee of Sabarmati Ashram Kartikeya Sarabhai, Trustee Amrit Modi, Director of Sabarmati Ashram Atul Pandya, Chief Protocol Officer were present.

The main purpose of the UK Prime Minister’s visit to India in the UK and Indian businesses. They will be announcing investments and export deals worth over £1 billion, in areas from software engineering to health. The various science and tech collaborations, which include a digital health partnership and a joint investment fund for Indian deep-tech and AI start-ups are supported by both the governments. The introduction of new AI scholarships for Indian students jointly funded by the UK government’s Chevening programme and India’s Adani Group and a £6 million investment by AI healthcare specialists Qure.ai to open a centre of excellence in the UK are yet to be announced.

The United Kingdom PM Boris Johnson will be visiting Gujarat Biotechnology University, Akshardham temple in Gandhinagar, and also a plant of JCB company at Halol near Vadodara. As one of the sources say, he will not ‘lecture’ India about the Ukraine situation.
