A unique “Project Progress” by the Baroda Youth Federation promotes student attendance in government schools in Vadodara. “Mum Shala Prati Dinam” was launched on Saturday in Kavi Dula Kag Vidyalaya, where the students from 1 to 8 who regularly attend class were felicitated at the school. The aim is to encourage students to attend school and classes regularly.
The day happens to be the birthday of Rukmil Shah of the Baroda Youth Federation, and he celebrates the day by launching this important initiative. More than 30 students of the school were felicitated for their regular attendance, and the team encouraged others to match them.
“Project Progress is a unique initiative in which regular school-going students of the town’s Primary Education Committee will be felicitated every month. The aim is to increase the attendance of students in government schools and make them understand the importance of education. Secondly, we want to create an environment of healthy competition among students for a good cause. “This is a pilot project that will be expanded to other government schools beginning with the next academic session,” Rukmil Shah explained.
He further added that this kind of encouragement will make students come to school regularly. The project has been launched with a firm determination to take the school’s result as high as 5% at the end of this academic session. At the end of the year, a final winner will be declared by evaluating the student on all the aspects decided by them. The program will run for four months, in this year. In the coming academic session, one school will be selected for each different zone of the city.
