Prohibitory orders enforced in Vadodara city over Holi-Dhuleti festival

According to Section-144 of the Criminal Procedure Act-1973 (No.2 of 1974) Vadodara City Police Commissioner Dr. Shamsher Singh has issued a proclamation banning some acts related to Holi-Dhuleti festival.

The Holi festival is festival of goodness and colours which will be celebrated on 7th March and Dhuleti on 8th March. In normal circumstances, people gather in large numbers in societies, streets, public places, open fields and roads to celebrate Holi/Dhuleti festivals.

But to avoid any nuisance for motorists and pedestrians caused by any anti-social elements police commissioner has banned these activities. So the police commissioner has banned such acts in the city area.

Under this announcement, the entire area under the jurisdiction of the police commissioner of Vadodara city from 5th March to 11th March if any person is caught doing any such activity like applying mud, paint, chemical or dye mixed water or any other such thing on pedestrians or on houses or properties/vehicles or on persons moving in public places.

Any violator or violator of this order shall be liable to punishment as per Section-188 of Act-45 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

Pursuant to this order, serving in Vadodara Commissionerate from the status of Additional Commissioner of Police to P.O.S.E. E.P.C.O against all officers holding the post up to Breach of this notification. As per Section-188, the complaint has been authorized.
