‘Shashwat Tirth’ Gujarat Government Creates 3D Cave of Somnath Temple at Garvi Gujarat, Offering Real Experience to Delhiites

On the occasion of Gujarat Foundation Day, the state government has unveiled a unique virtual reality project that showcases the cultural and religious significance of Somnath Temple, one of the major Jyotirligas of India. The 3D cave, built at Garvi Gujarat Bhawan in Delhi, allows visitors to experience the temple’s small details through VR goggles, giving them a feeling of actually being in the temple.

The project was developed by the State Government’s Pavitra Yatradham Development Board, which used a 3D LiDAR scanning/mapping system to scan the Shree Somnath Temple. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Supreme Court judges Justice M. R. Shah and Justice Bela Trivedi, along with Tourism Secretary Harit Shukla, Resident Commissioner Aarti Kanwar, and other senior officials of Gujarat and the Government of India.

The project is part of the state government’s efforts to promote and protect its cultural and spiritual heritage, reflecting the art and sculpture, cuisine, and culture of Gujarat. It offers a unique and amazing experience to every person who visits Garvi Gujarat Bhawan, including Delhiites who can now enjoy the cultural richness of Gujarat’s ‘Shashwat Tirth.’
