मन में जज्बा हो तो हर मुश्किल आसान हो जाती है…
In a tale that embodies passion triumphing over adversity, Mukesh Meena, a resident of a small village near Udaipur, has secured a gold medal at the national level in Judo. Born into a family facing severe financial constraints, Mukesh’s journey showcases dedication and the transformative power of sports.
Hailing from the village of Pipliya, located 25 kilometers from Udaipur, Mukesh’s father works as a daily wage laborer. Despite financial struggles, Mukesh’s passion for sports was hindered by poverty, until a turning point marked a new chapter in his life.
At the age of 12, Mukesh’s life took a positive turn when Kishan Soni, a PE teacher at the Government Higher Primary School in Pipliya, recognized Mukesh’s potential. Bringing Mukesh to Udaipur, Soni provided him with the initial training in judo, sowing the seeds for Mukesh’s future success.
Under the guidance of Judo coach Sushil Sen at Shreeji Judo Center in Udaipur, Mukesh trained hard. He secured gold medals at the district and state levels. Furthermore, he also won a silver medal at the School National Judo Competition U-14 in Jharkhand in 2018.
Mukesh’s outstanding achievements did not go unnoticed. He became a part of the Central Government’s Khelo India scheme, receiving an annual package of Rs 5 lakh. The financial support enabled Mukesh to continue pursuing his passion despite challenges.
Mukesh created history by winning a gold medal at the 67th National School Judo Competition U-19 held in Sri ganganagar, Rajasthan. His journey from a kaccha makaan in Pipliya to achieving this remarkable feat makes him the first player in Udaipur’s history to accomplish such a triumph from a village nestled in the mountains.
Mukesh Meena’s story serves as an inspiring narrative of perseverance and dedication, proving that passion can indeed overcome adversity. His journey not only brings great pride to Udaipur but also serves as a testament to the power of sports in uplifting lives.
