VMSS has pulled up socks for the upcoming Swachh Survekshan Survey. Right from bringing awareness to imposing a heavy fine for littering, everything is in to-do list of VMSS.
VMSS official said we are conducting awareness programs to keep wet and dry waste separately, distributing pamphlets. In spite of all soft efforts if people are not understanding we need to take strict actions. We have started penalizing those who are found littering or throwing garbage outside. The penalty varies from Rs100 to Rs25000 depending on the gravity of the violation.
Till now Rs65lakh as a penalty is recovered in the last 20 days. 12 teams of VMSS officials are at work for 12 wards in 2018 Vadodara ranked 44th in Swachh Survekshan Survey. Major cities of Gujarat were ahead of us.
