The ten talav, situated 12 kms from Dhaboi, which has been dried up since the last decade, is going to be revived thanks to the efforts of the local MLA Shailesh Mehta.
The local MLA Shailesh Mehta is also trying to help change Dhaboi’s name to Darbavati, has speeded up the work to revive the lake after getting permission from the TDO, local mamladar officers and meeting up with the locals.
The ten talav has an interesting piece of history attached to it. The talav, and the Dabhoi fort is constructed by architect Hiradhar Shilpi, who built the lake for the love of his life, a girl named ‘Taini.’ Local folklore says that Taini was the Rani’s maid.
Hiradhar Shilpi was building the lake secretly by using the stones that were supposed to be used to build the Dabhoi fort via an underground tunnel. When the Raja came to know about this, he sentenced Hiradhar to death by being buried alive in the walls of the Dabhoi fort.
As time passed, the the Taini lake become popular as the ten lake.
