A police complaint was filed against neurosurgeon Dr. Yashesh Dalal for molestation, rape under section 376 of the IPC and IT act 66 and 67. The survivor, a physiotherapist who was working with him had complained against him earlier in the day.
The survivor alleged that the doctor had been harassing her since she was employed with him in 2013-14. The doctor had forced her into a physical relationship and threatened to ruin her career if she stopped. She also alleged that the doctor used to take her to out of station conferences with him.
He allegedly threatened to circulate images and videos of her on WhatsApp if she went to the police.
Since the survivor was married and divorced at the time of 2013 to 2017, the police are questioning her ex-husband as well.
The physiotherapist went through a medical examination and the police are investigating colleagues at Srushtil hospital, checking CCTV footage and investigating the financials. The doctor is now on the run, and four teams have been dispatched to track him down.
