MSU seeks to waive off fees of army martyrs’ children seeking admission in 2019-20

As the whole nation strives to help the families of the martyrs of the Pulwama attacks, the people of Vadodara are also doing their bit. While a Barodian, Viviek Patel raised more than one million dollars overseas, MSU is also doing its part.

The MS University of Baroda has proposed to waive off fees of martyrs children who seek admission to the university from the next academic year 2019-20. The proposal has been included in the agenda for the syndicate meeting scheduled for Sunday.

Last month student representatives had demanded that the university provide children of the martyrs’ special assistance through a permanent system so that they are provided education free of cost on the campus. They also asked the university to consider bearing these children’s expenses incurred during their stay at the Halls of Residence.

The demand, raised in the backdrop of the recent Pulwama terror attack, also included wards of all those martyrs from paramilitary and armed forces who lost their lives for the nation.
