Mahadev Pond of Vadodara to be adorned with a 31 feet Hanuman Idol
Adding to the beautification projects of the cultural city of Vadodara, work on the 31-feet Hanuman idol has recently begun at the Mahadev Pond in the Wadi area of the city.
This idol will stand on a 150-feet tall tower that will feature a glass viewing gallery to give a spectacular aerial view of the city. Adding to its charm, the tower will have glass flooring and windows. Up to 50 people will be allowed to go up the tower at once. Moreover, a Theme-based Museum will be developed on the ground floor of the tower that will give tribute to the mythological tale of Ramayana.
In addition to that, a 100-feet long replica of the famous Laxman Jhula (Bridge) of Rishikesh will be built to connect the tower and the main road.
The project is expected to be completed by June 2021. After the completion of the project, a 5-tonne bell on the tower is to be rung at 6 a.m. in the morning and 6 p.m. in the evening. Along with that, a laser show will be organized on Hanuman Jayanti every year.
The project is initiated by MLA Madhu Shrivastava and funded by the Amit Educational and Charitable Trust (AECT).
