Getting late for office, college or school? Don’t even think of speeding because the Vadodara Traffic Police is all set with the new speed gun machine to track your speed before you even know it.
Over-speeding on the Akota-Dandia Bazaar stretch will attract a firm penalty with the new drive against over-speeding by the Vadodara Traffic Police. The installed speed gun can track the speed of cars and two-wheelers from a distance of 70 meters. Vehicles with a speed of over 40 km/h will be detected as over-speeding vehicles. Once the over-speeding vehicles are detected, it will click photographs of the driver and license plate, and a challan will be issued before the vehicle reaches the Dandia Bazaar Crossroads. A penalty of Rs. 400 will be collected on the spot.
The speed gun was already being tested and starting Monday, it will be put to use. A 6-member committed traffic police team has been formed that will be focusing the drive. The team will keep shifting to different locations to use the speed-gun around the city.
