M S University lodges complaint against fake social media page

Fake pages are a rather common phenomenon in the lives of famous brands, celebrities, etc. However, this time the renowned education hub of Vadodara, M S University, has its own story to tell about having a fake account on a social media site.

On Sunday night, officials of M S University filed a complaint with the cybercrime cell of Vadodara against a fake Facebook page where the official logo of the University is being used. The officials stated that the fake page was being used to spread hate news against syndicate members. The complainant and MSU in-charge registrar, N K Ojha stated that the logo cannot be used without written permission of any competent authority.

The officials of the university said that the fake page posts offensive and questions the reputation of the brand. They also added that the page is misleading people and creates an illusion of originality. Ojha added that the fake page is spreading hate news of syndicate members – Mayank Patel and Dinesh Yadav and also shows the phone number of university guesthouse.
