‘Khada Saptah’ program launched by City Congress against the administration

”Khada Saptah’ (Pit Week) program was launched by the City Congress in the wake of potholes on the city roads during the rains. A tree was also planted in one of the pits at Old Padra Road and issued a challenge to the corporation to calculate the pits.

Congress President Prashant Patel, leader of the opposition Chandrakant Srivastav, Congress Corporators, office bearers and activists were present at Malhar Point Char Rasta, Old Padra Road to protest against potholes on road. They held placards and shouted slogans against the BJP and held a symbolic protest by planting saplings inside the pits. They also put number boards near the pits and asked the Municipality to count them.

They have raised the issue of citizens not getting clean drinking water, suffering from epidemics due to drainage problems. They also highlighted the trouble due to potholes and caved ins on all the roads in Vadodara city and that riders have started getting back pain due to potholes on the city roads and their vehicles are also being damaged.

Congress corporators have repeatedly urged the mayor to provide roads, drainage, and clean water to people at the corporation meeting, but administrators have failed miserably in providing facilities to the people of Vadodara due to the corrupt contractors.
