A woman was shot in broad daylight in Yakutpura area of Vadodara

Mohammad Naeem Abdul Rahman Sheikh lives with his family in the Ashiyana Building behind a soda factory in the Yakutpura area of Vadodara City. A family dispute had arisen and at around 1 pm two unidentified persons came to the house under the pretext of giving an invitation card to Amina Sheikh, the wife of Naeem. Before she could understand anything, they fired one round on her in broad daylight and fled from the spot. Amina Sheikh was hit by the bullet right in the chest and was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition. Currently, she’s undergoing treatment.

Top police officials including Police Commissioner R.B Brahmbhatt reached the spot after the incident. Based on the statements of family members and CCTV footage, an investigation has begun.

“The incident happened in Chipwaad area where two unknown youths fired on Amina Sheikh after calling her over a pretext to give invitation card. They fired one round which hit the chest of Amina and fled from the spot. Primary investigation revealed that a property dispute might be the reason but we are investigating further to know the exact reason for the incident,” said Lakdhirsinh Zala DCP Zone 4 Vadodara.
