With an aim to spread awareness in women coming for delivery at Rukmani Chainani Hospital at Sayaji hospital for being pressurized for abortion, an interaction was held by ACP C Division Megha Tewar on Monday. She asked them to contact the SHE team in such a situation and also gave an understanding to the families about feticide and torture when a son is not born to the expected mother.
The SHE team has been launched to protect women and extend help whenever a victim contacts them. The team to date solved many cases related to women and also spread awareness about their legal rights and benefits.
On Monday ACP C Division Megha Tewar reached Rukmani Chainani hospital along with the SHE team from Raopura Police Station and gave information to the women who visit. The women were given information including contacting the SHE team if they were pressured about feticide. Poor and middle-class women come to the maternity hospital for delivery. There are cases when they were forced for feticide and tortured if they give birth to a daughter. Megha Tewar advised them to contact the SHE team and seek help in such cases.
Megha Tewar informed the women about contacting the SHE team in cases of torture by her husband, in-laws, and other persons. Some women feel that after filing a police complaint, they have to go to the courts and police stations.
