Farmers in Karjan and Shinor talukas suffered crop losses due to heavy rains in the last monsoon as well as the release of water from the Narmada dam. Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Nitinbhai Patel sanctioned an agricultural assistance package for the farmers of these two talukas to compensate for the crop loss.
Welcoming the decision of the State Government to sanction agricultural assistance package for the farmers of these two talukas of Vadodara district, Minister of State for Home Affairs Pradipsinh Jadeja thanked both CM and deputy CM for helping the farmers.
In 2020-21, during the Kharif season, heavy rains and the release of water from the Narmada dam incurred heavy losses to the farmers in the Karjan and Shinor talukas. To compensate for the loss of crops, ten villages in Karjan and Shinor taluka situated on the banks of the Narmada river will be compensated by the government. ‘A total of 2,846 farmers will be given Rs. 10,000 – up to a maximum of two hectares and a minimum of Rs. 5,000/- per farmer has been sanctioned by the state government, said District Agriculture Officer Nitin Vasava.
The farmers of these two talukas have thanked Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Nitinbhai Patel for approving the agricultural assistance package.
