Vadodara city-based Parul University recently hosted the felicitation ceremony of Dr. Montu Patel, the new President of the Pharmacy Council of India at the university campus on 16th April 2022. The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) oversees the regulation of the profession and practice of pharmacy throughout the country. It is a statutory body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. It is constituted under the Pharmacy Act, of 1948. The Council was first constituted on 4 March 1948. It is the supreme body for all the pharmaceutical trends concerning the nation, hence the leadership body of this council holds utmost importance. Dr. Montu Patel was recently elected as the new President of PCI. Becoming the youngest president to be elected for this honorary role and the first from the state of Gujarat, this ceremony was truly special. This felicitation program was organized by the Association of Self Finance Colleges, Gujarat State. Executive committee member, Dr. Nilimanka Das, and Regulations committee chairman, Dr. Deependra Singh were also felicitated during this program.
Besides, the other prominent members of the Pharmacy Council of India from all over the country also graced this occasion by registering their presence. Dr. Montu Patel was congratulated by one and all present at the event and at the end, he said he was grateful to the Association for acknowledging his achievement and that he was looking forward to starting working as the new president of the Pharmacy Council of India.
