Author’s Day: an appreciation for contribution in shaping an individual’s conscience

Let’s have a moment and appreciate literary scriptures, texts, novels, poems which introduces us to new ideas, knowledge and opens the new horizon of imagination to us. From reading picture books like ‘Chandoba,’ ‘Twinkle,’ etc. in childhood, princess stories like ‘Snow White,’ ‘Cinderella,’ etc. and diving into the world of vampires and werewolves with books like, ‘Vampire Diaries,’ ‘The Twilight Saga,’ etc. during teenage to reading about politics, history and opting for non-fiction, like ‘Wings of Fire,’ ‘Why I killed Gandhi,’ etc. we all grew up. Almost every reader can say and agree to this that, these books have shaped us our cognitive mind and what we’re today. Everyone has that one comfort book which is closed to the heart and was literal binge-read multiple times.

November 1, is annually observed as the Author’s Day. Author’s Day is observed to celebrate and appreciate the contributions of authors and their literary works. It is a day dedicated to recognizing the importance of authors in shaping literature, culture, and knowledge. The day encourages people to read, reflect on the impact of books and literature, and express gratitude to the authors who have enriched our lives through their words and creativity. Author’s Day serves as an opportunity to promote reading, storytelling, and the appreciation of the written word, fostering a greater understanding of the role authors play in society.

Classics are stacked in the favorites section of every reader from millennial to Genz. Classics like The Great Gatsby, Little Women and Hamlet, etc. have stood the test of time will be recognized no matter how many years go by. The popularity of many classics is such, that they are even translated to other languages for readers across the world. The themes discussed in the classic books can touch all the readers irrespective of their language, religion and nationality. With exploration and elaboration about universal themes, by examining the behavior of human regarding love, beauty, truth, life and death, classics stands the test of time, language barriers, religion and nationality.

With the precise use of language, skillfully woven words in a complex sentence structure, classics keeps us more engaged rather than simple and bland writing with straight-up ends. Due to the use of vast vocabulary with engaging way of storytelling, classics had the depth to their characters and the plots. But whereas contemporary era, feels like the forcing silver-lining for simple and basic way of storytelling, with addition of few heavy words.

But with the author’s dedication, creativity, we’re shaped into the individuals with the cognitive thinking with imaginative minds. Thank you for making our real lives magical and tolerable.
