How Barodian Pinal Parlekar cycled her way into making a national record

For 29-year-old Pinal Parlekar, fitness has always been one of the main focuses of her life. The Barodian left her job in the telecom sector to follow her passion for mountaineering has become the first woman to cover the capitals of the seven north-east states on a cycle in the short span of 20 days and has thus, literally cycled her way into the Indian Achiever Book of Records.

But completing this journey was no easy task. The 20 days were filled with a lot of hardships other than the physical effort that goes into cycling. Though they started out as a team of four cyclists and two supporting members, all of the teammates and supporting members left due to a few internal disputes. On the last day, she rode237.9km alone from Biswanath Chariali to Guwahati alone. 

She plans to keep going and motivating women to take up this adventure sport.
