The Baroda Central Co.Op. Bank elections are held according to the taluka zone. Around 1,500 members from the banks, co-operatives, buying and selling unions, housing as well as credit societies elect 14 directors. During the election process, 10 including Atul Patel, the current chairman of the bank were declared uncontested as no one can file candidature against the directors. The election was held on December 10th where 166 out of 172 voters cast their ballots.
Former Karjan MLA Satish Patel, Dilip Patel, Yogendrabhai Chhatrasinh, and Shailesh Patel won the four seats of The Baroda Central Cooperative Bank, the largest in the district co-operative sector. The counting of votes for the four seats was held today. The winning candidates were greeted by their supporters after the results. Notably, 10 seats, including the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the bank, have been declared uncontested in the election process for 14 seats.
As a result, the BJP-inspired panel will once again run the bank, and Atul Patel will become the Chairman of the bank again.
The counting took place this morning at the office of the Purchase and Sales Association on Harni Road, where former Karjan MLA and BJP-inspired progress panel candidate Satish Patel won. The counting took place at 9 a.m. and was completed in half an hour. In elected four candidates, Satish Patel (Nishaliya) got 17 votes, Dilip Patel-5 votes, Yogesh Varanamiya-4 votes, and Shailesh Patel won by 6 votes.
While celebrating the victory, social distancing guideline was flouted.
Among the 14 directors elected in the bank’s election are current chairman Atul Patel, G.B. Solanki, Ajit Patel, Dinesh Patel (Dinu Mama), Parthiv Patel, Mukesh Patel, Yogesh Patel (Tiko) and Hemrajsinh Maharaulji, Satish Patel (Nishalia), Dilip Patel, Yogendra Chhatrasinh, and Shailesh Patel. The elected board of directors will meet in the coming days in which the Chairman and Vice-Chairman will be elected.
