On December 18th, General Officer Commanding, Golden Katar Division, Major General Mohit Wadhwa, flagged the “INDIA@75 BRO MOTORCYCLE EXPEDITION 2021”, from Ahmedabad. The rally is being hosted in conjunction with Hero Motocorp and Bharat Petroleum to commemorate the 75th anniversary of India’s independence as part of the “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav” celebrations.
The Border Roads Organization (BRO), is sending a total of ten riders to the event. They will travel through Bhuj, Barmer, Bikaner, Amritsar, Firozpur, and Delhi before arriving in Delhi on December 25th, covering over 2700 kilometers in eight days.
The General Officer Commanding, Golden Katar Division, who rolled off the rally, stated, “This is a historic year, and it is important for us to remember the supreme sacrifice made by our Border Roads veterans while working in hostile, remote terrain of Border Areas where connectivity is extremely important.”
Such events, he continued, are crucial for connecting with the public and reminding them of the Border Roads Organization’s valor and sacrifice. He wished everyone good luck and praised their adventurous attitude. Hero Motocorp and Bharat Petroleum got acknowledged for their support of the event by the General Officer Commanding.The excursion will meet with war veterans and widows, as well as other Armed Forces and Border Roads Organisation veterans. The motorcyclists will tour schools and colleges to interact with the country’s youth and demonstrate the Border Roads Organisation’s valor and sacrifice.
The expedition’s goal is to reignite people’s patriotism and show off the Border Roads Organization’s unwavering spirit. It will also encourage young people to join the exclusive Border Roads Organisation by educating them about the organization’s employment opportunities. Medical camps, road safety initiatives, and visits to old age homes and orphans will all be part of the journey.
The BPCL Gandhinagar also honored the BRO expedition team by hosting a magnificent welcome for them.
