Burn firecrackers between 8 to 10 p.m says Supreme Court

Today in the judgment by the Supreme Court, using firecrackers is allowed within permitted decibel & emission norms. Interestingly court bans the sale of firecrackers on E-Commerce websites.

Court has imposed timing restriction on burning crackers which will be applicable in all festivals and occasion. 8 p.m to 10 p.m will be the timing and on New Year & Christmas, the timing is from 11:45 p.m to 12:15 a.m

The Supreme Court’s verdict came in response to a plea seeking a ban on the manufacturing and sale of firecrackers across the country to curb air pollution.

Last year on 9th October, Supreme Court temporarily banned the sale of firecrackers ahead of Diwali, this was on experiment basis to check the pollution level.  Every year the pollution level in national capital Delhi & its surrounding regions is alarming especially during winters.
