Burned in love: Youth murdered by lover’s husband, burned 75 km away from Vadodara

A burned carcass of a young man was found at Adadra, Panchmahal by Vadodara Police on Friday morning.

Vadodara Police reached the crime spot 75 km away from Vadodara when a rickshaw driver reported of fresh blood stains found in his rickshaw after he took a last ride on Thursday night.

Rushank alias Nandu, a resident of Kishanwadi VUDA, had an alleged love affair with Anil alias Annu’s wife. Anil knew about the affair and wanted to take action against Rushank. Anil ganged up with Suresh and Nagin to kill Rushank. On 17th (Thursday) morning Anil misled Rushank, told him that they had a court hearing to attend. On the same afternoon, the trio killed Rushank in Kishanwadi itself. The trio were allegedly in an inebriated state while committing the crime.

The trio wrapped Rushank’s body in a plastic bag, after which they took rickshaw late at night from Vadodara to Adadra in Panchmahal (75 km from Vadodara). On the way, they picked up petrol from a fuel station. According to the rickshaw driver, the trio dropped the plastic bag near Vejalpur road in Panchmahal. The trio asked the driver to stop while they went back and burned the body. The rickshaw driver, already in doubt, was cleaning his rickshaw the next morning when he saw blood stains in the back seat.

Vadodara Police successfully arrested Anil, Suresh and Nagin from Kishanwadi on Friday itself with the help of the rickshaw driver. On further investigation, Anil confessed his involvement in Rushank’s murder as he knew about his wife and Rushank’s affair.
