Careless disposal of medical waste posing a threat

30 more patients have tested positive in the city today and the total number of cases has reached 855 now, and 38 deaths have been reported. On one hand, the city administration is making constant efforts to prevent the transmission of coronavirus. But, on the other hand, a few irresponsible people are endangering the lives of the citizens by disposing of the medical waste on the open roads and hence contributing to the spread of the virus.

The city is witnessing a steady increase in the number of corona positive patient, which has become a matter of growing concern for the city. OSD Vinod Rao and his team are working hard day and night to deal with this difficult situation. City police have also taken to the streets to enforce the lockdown to prevent further spread of the coronavirus. A bag of medical waste, including used hand gloves, face masks and ventilator pipes used near a dabeli van near U.S. Pizza near Uma Char Rasta on Waghodia Road, was thrown on the road.

In this way, irresponsible people are endangering the lives of others by spreading the Coronavirus on the roads. It is not advisable to dispose of medical biowaste carelessly on the road as it is hazardous. The corporation needs to take immediate notice and action and dispose of these waste properly to protect the citizens from the invisible coronavirus infection. The place where this medical biowaste was dumped has more than three hospitals around it and if the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) conducts an in-depth investigation in this regard, those who are endangering the lives of the citizens can be punished.
