Chhadi Mahotsav – a low-key celebration in Vadodara this year by Valmiki Samaj

The Valmiki community of the city celebrates the Chhadi Mahotsav every year from Rakshabandhan to Navami. But this year, due to the coronavirus scare, the celebrations were low-key.
Sunil Solanki, the former Mayor and President of Vadodara Valmiki Yuva Manch said that every year a public program of Chhadi Mahotsav of Veer Gogaji Maharaj, a disciple of Guru Gorakhnath is held with great enthusiasm in the city. Around 35 Chhadis have been installed at different areas of the city on Rakshabandhan.

This year following the guidelines of Corona, sticks that used to be collected from Sursagar was not collected. However, the pooja is being performed in place of the stick without accepting the invitation from other areas.
