Launched as the tallest statue of the world, and inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, satute of Unity built as a tribute to Sardar Vallabhai Patel at Kevadia will now have helicopter rides available for the tourists, to have better view of 182-meter structure.
The ride was launched on Sunday, it is 10 minute helicopter ride for Rs 2900. 59 visitors and 6 media persons have taken use of this service till now.
The statue is now in the list of Gujarat’s latest tourists attractions. Also Gujarat government has written to the chief ministers of all states to consider setting up guest houses near the Statue of Unity.The Gujarat government built the statue at a cost of around Rs. 3,000 crore. It is estimated that on an average, 15,000 visitors visit the statue every day, according to the state government.
