The contaminated water has caused five accidents since morning. No action has been taken by the authorities to stop the flow of water. Deputy Mayor Nandabahen Joshi, who was passing by at the time of the accident, stopped the car and helped the injured girl. The deputy mayor also arranged for the girl to be taken to a hospital for treatment.
The contaminated water has been flowing near Kalaghoda Circle, Sayajiganj for the last 10 days. It is a busy road and people travel to offices during traffic time. The pedestrians are also getting affected because of the dirty water. The citizens are questioning the ‘Smart City’ plan of the government and corporation. If such minor problems are not resolved how will the ‘Smart City’ target be achieved? It is also observed by the citizens that waterline, drainage, leakage incidents are common. If immediate actions are not taken for such issues, the ‘Smart City’ plan will only remain a dream.
