Local swimming pools that are run by the municipal corporation have increased their cost exponentially.
The Lalbaugh municipal swimming pool has shut down its chlorine plant since a year. Instead the chlorine is directly pumped from a chlorine bottle to the pool which means that more than 500 swimmers have been endangered because of the usage of unchecked chlorine in the pool.
Fees for using the pool have increased exponentially. Instead of charging swimmers Rs 750 for three months, the fee has increased to Rs 750 per month.
The 10-year membership program has been stopped, and instead, swimmers pay Rs 4500 for a year while corporation employees pay Rs 2000 for a year.
