Counting of votes for Vadodara District & Taluka Panchayat and Municipality election on 2nd March

The counting of votes for Vadodara District Panchayat, 8 Taluka Panchayats, and 3 Municipalities elections held on 28th February will take place on 2nd March. All preparations have been completed by the electoral system for a peaceful and timely completion of the counting of votes. Counting will start at 9 a.m. with a Postal ballot followed by the EVM. Strict police arrangements have been made by the district police to prevent any untoward incident at the counting centers.

Elections for Vadodara District Panchayat, 8 Taluka Panchayats, and 3 Municipalities were held on 28th February. In the district panchayat elections, the highest turnout was 79.99 % in the Vadu seat and the lowest turnout was 60.05% in the Ranoli constituency. In taluka panchayat, the highest turnout of 75.63 % was in Savli and the lowest 69.57 % was registered in Karjan. In three municipalities, the highest turnout was 75.51 % in Padra and the lowest turnout was 68.29 % in Savli municipality.

EVMs from all polling booths were sealed and kept inside the strong rooms of the respective polling stations. A strict police cordon has been set up at the counting centers.

Giving information about the counting of votes to be held on March 2, District Election Officer and Collector Shalini Agarwal said that counting of votes for 7 seats of District Panchayat of Vadodara Taluka and 27 seats of Taluka Panchayat will be at Mahakorben School in Dasharath, counting of 6 seats of District Panchayat of Padra Taluka and 26 seats of Taluka Panchayat will be at Commerce College Padra.

Counting of votes for 4 seats of District Panchayat of Karjan Taluka and 20 seats of Taluka Panchayat will be at Taluka Seva Sadan, Karjan, 2 seats of Shinor Taluka District Panchayat and 16 Taluka Panchayat seats will be at Taluka Seva Sadan, Shinor, 4 seats of Dabhoi Taluka District Panchayat and 20 seats of Taluka Panchayat will be at Commerce College, Dabhoi, 4 seats of District Panchayat of Waghodia Taluka and 20 Taluka Panchayat seats will be at Taluka Sevasadan, Waghodia, 5 seats of Savli Taluka District Panchayat and 22 Taluka Panchayat seats will be at Commerce College, Savli and counting of votes for 2 seats of District Panchayat of Desar Taluka and 16 seats of Taluka Panchayat will be held at Taluka Seva Sadan, Desar. While the counting of votes of the municipality will be conducted in that town itself.

LCDs will be installed outside the counting centers so that people can see the results during the counting. Vehicles are banned at counting places and special police arrangements have been made in the sensitive villages. Police arrangements have also kept ensuring that no untoward incident occurs during the rally of the winning candidates.
