A woman from #Vadodara gave birth to a baby girl, while her report came out positive for Corona virus. However, the report of her newborn baby came negative. This case is recorded under the maternity home of Rukmani Chainani Prasuti Gruh of SSG Hospital. The woman was kept in isolation ward when found infected with the virus, where doctors gave her full treatment for about 7 days. During this time, the mother was kept away from the new-born to avoid the transmission of virus.
The baby girl was born on 17th May. Due to separation from the mother, the newborn was kept in the hospital with the support of a milk bank. Hasin Bano was pregnant and undergoing treatment at Jamnabai Hospital, and later she was admitted to the maternity home of Rukmini Chana of Sayaji Hospital on 16th May after her labor pain started. Nurses on the duty took extreme care of the baby for 10 days and emotional moments were seen when Mother was discharged from the hospital with the baby.
After the child was born, the doctors on duty sent samples of both of them for examination. The mother’s report came to Corona positive and the girl’s negative. After which Hasin Bano was admitted to the isolation ward of the hospital. Doctors said that the samples of both were repeatedly examined. When the reports of both came negative, we breathed a sigh of relief.
