2,821 cases related to attempt to murder, causing injury, kidnapping, dacoity, theft, assault, loot, etc. were registered from January 2019 to December 2019 against 3,009 criminal incidents in 2018.
Vadodara has witnessed a drop of 7% crimes in 2019 as compared to 2018.
Violent crimes such as murder, attempt to murder, causing harm or injury, etc. have seen a significant decline in 2019. Of which, 10% decline in murder cases and 21% decline in attempt to murder cases have been observed in 2019. Additionally, crimes involving injury have reduced by 5% and kidnapping cases registered in 2019 witnessed a drop of 15%.
Moreover, property related crime such as dacoity, loot, theft, etc. have also reduced compared to 2018. 13% decrease in loot cases have been in observed in 2019 and 12% decrease in burglary. However, there has been 4% increase in cases related to cheating or dacoity.
In the last year, Vadodara Police have carried out regular patrolling, checking and taken stringent measures against known criminals. Along with that, 800 CCTV cameras across the city have also helped speed up unsolved cases and curbing crime.
